CONNECTING

Link up computer to projector or TV with "HDMI cable", or use Apple TV

 

LAPTOP / COMPUTER POSITIONING

1. Place camera (webcam, iPhone or iPad) centre front, pointing at audience, 

   away from speakers

    prefferably close to the side of the screen

2. If wireless (eg Apple TV) place camera (webcam, iPhone or iPad) 

   behind audience, and above head height, at opposite end of the room.

ZOOM settings for best results

AUDIO

    A. in settings

    B. select audio

    C. UN-CHECK: "Automatically adjust microphone settings"

    D. Together as required: "adjust the microphone setting"

VIDEO

    A. in settings

    B. select video

    C. CHECK: "16:9 (widescreen)"

    D. UN-CHECK: "Enable HD"

    E. UN-CHECK: "spotlight my vid when speaking"

ZOOM app

ONCE OUR ZOOM CHAT IS RUNNING

    A. go to gallery view

    B. press the 3 dots . . .  

      top right corner of the screen with YOU in it, and select "hide self view"

    B. press the 3 dots . . .  

     on the top right corner of the screen with ME in it, and select "Pin"

This removes extra video windows from your screen,

so it's just you looking at a TV, except I can also see you

For this residents required to have a computer or laptop,

(or smartphone) in their room.

OTHER OPTIONS

TV

If residents have no smartphone or computer,

but have a TV in their room and you have a link up,

this will not be interactive, however can see what's going on.

APPLE TV

You can attach any apple device through Apple TV,

and then to multiple screens in a building.

IMPROVED AUDIO

1. a dedicated USB room microphone eg a "Yeti" is best

2. laptop built in mike is good enough

3. anyone with a smart phone can join the zoom chat room and interact directly 

   this can be residents family members also

4. program directors, can log in on their smartphone and relay requests.

5. a hospital beds if wifi and a laptops are allowed.
